Dotted Bowl
Glass Fusing
This was my second project with glass fusing. When fusing glass, you first cut and grind down all of your glass pieces and then melt them together in a kiln at around 1500°F.
This project also used a slump mold to make it 3D. To use a slump mold, you first fuse the pieces together normally in the patterns that you want, and then you put them on top of a mold into the kiln again so that they melt into the shape of the mold.
To see another example of fusing, check out the emoji squares.
First, I arranged small colored pieces of glass to get a rough idea of what I wanted the bowl look like
Next, I sanded down each of the colored pieces of glass into rounder shapes
I fused the piece flat once so that all colors combined into one piece
Then, I fused the piece with a bowl mold underneath to turn it into the shape I wanted
